Who We Are

Hands at Work in Africa (UK) exists to create and nurture long term relationships between the Church in the UK and the communities that Hands at Work supports, which are some of the most vulnerable in Africa.

We believe the Biblical mandate to care for the dying, widowed and orphaned is not only for the Church in Africa, but also elsewhere, and Hands at Work in Africa (UK) will be a prophetic voice to the Church in the UK, challenging them to fulfil their mandate. By doing so, we demonstrate the love of God and the lives of all involved are transformed, both in the UK and in Africa.

We are committed to nurturing existing and building new partnerships with UK churches and organisations, which send teams on partnership visits and long term volunteers, and help us with support for orphaned and vulnerable children in the communities we serve.

Hands at Work in Africa (UK) was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee on 25 July 2006 (no. 05886060) and became a registered charity on 4 January 2007 (no. 1117446). Our main objectives are to serve the people of Africa by relieving poverty and suffering, promoting good health and increasing life expectancy, and advancing education and training.
