A New Year, A New Opportunity to Serve

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of January.  The year is already progressing so quickly!

We want to thankyou and encourage you to continue to support the orphaned and vulnerable children that Hands at Work in Africa are caring for.  You are changing lives and saving the lives of many children!

With your amazing support, Hands at Work in Australia partners with six of the poorest of poor communities in five countries of Africa with three Essential Services: FOOD, EDUCATION AND BASIC HEALTHCARE.

The Communities that Australia are partnering with in 2015 with are:

Chibuli Community Based Organisation in Zambia

New Wells Community Based Organisation in Zambia

Kikula Community Based Organisation in Democratic Republic of Congo

Ilaje Community Based Organisation in Nigeria

Pfunani Community Based Organisation in South Africa

Macadeira Community Based Organisation in Mozambique

If you would like to support a child in one or more of these communities, the cost is $20 a month per child which will provide the Three Essential Services as above.  When you look at it, giving up just 5 cappuccinos a month can transform the life of a child!

To start this transformation, please visit www.handsatwork.org/au, select GIVE and select one of the methods there to start the process.

God’s heart is for the vulnerable, so when we care, we follow Him. James 1:27 shows us this:

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

We look forward to this year and are excited to see three Australians volunteer for the 12 month February Intake and teams of up to 12 going on short term mission trips this year.  There are also long serving volunteers in Africa who have given up much to serve the Lord in this way.  Our prayers are with all the volunteers at Hands at Work in 2015.  If you would like information on serving opportunities please email info@au.handsatwork.org.

Let’s keep trusting the Lord and keep following his lead in this year ahead.
