At the Care Point, 13-year-old Ruth is seen with a constant smile on her face as she plays with her friends and experiences safety in a place that she calls her home. She enjoys meeting with a girls’ youth group on Wednesdays and feels more confident in sharing her own story. She dreams of becoming a medical doctor or social worker one day. Her love for her neighbours and her desire to help others is what motivates her to reach this goal. – Zwelisha Community, South Africa

Zwelisha Community, South Africa: Admire* is a 13-year-old girl in grade 8. She lives with her father, who is mentally unwell, and her brother and aunt. Neglected and incredibly vulnerable, Admire was invited to the Care Point where she receives a hot, nutritious meal daily and support with education and basic health care. Since coming to the Care Point, Admire has thrived and has become a youth leader. She helps the Care Workers serve food to the younger children and joins the Bible studies.

#CareWorkers are men and women who give of themselves to serve the most vulnerable within their community. They are often living in similar conditions to the children that they serve, yet they remain committed and dedicated to the furthering of God’s kingdom. They ensure that the children are effectively and holistically cared for not by simply feeding them but also by showing them what a life full of love, joy and hope looks like. Two of the Community Based Organisation (CBO) Coordinators from across #SouthAfrica share about what it means to care for the children:
"When the children come to the Care Point, I am able to spend time with them and act as a mother figure. This time allows me to ask questions and ensure that they are doing okay. Many of our kids live by themselves and so it is important for me to play this role." - Coordinator, Mluti Community, South Africa
"I love being with the kids. I love helping them read the Bible and letting them know that God is there for them." – Coordinator, Zwelisha Community, South Africa - #Servanthood #ChristOurFoundation

"I like coming to the youth exchange days. It’s a place where we can share our struggles with one another and we don’t feel alone.” – Youth Leader (Mluti Community, South Africa) In June of 2016, twenty young leaders from Zwelisha, Mluti and Siyathuthuka Communities gathered in Zwelisha during their school holidays for a Youth Exchange Day. The youth spent the day encouraging and learning from one another as they built relationships and heard from the word of God. #Fellowship #Joy
