Hands at Work UK - Give to Projects
At times, practical needs arise in the communities we serve that go beyond the 3 Essential Services (food, education and health care). Through Projects you can help meet the need for infrastructure and essential facilities in our Care Points and communities. Projects may include digging boreholes for clean water, installing fences, constructing toilets or houses for vulnerable families, establishing Life Centre buildings, building kitchens and playgrounds, planting vegetable gardens, and more.
When you give to Projects, your generosity enables us to respond flexibly, helping to create safer, more dignified and more nurturing places for children and families. At the end of each year, we provide a report showing exactly what these funds have enabled.
Any funds raised beyond the requirements of Projects are directed to the area of greatest priority. Please use our JustGiving Campaign Page linked below to make your donation.
Thank you for partnering with us to build community, hope and long-term change.
Past Projects that have brought transformation
New toilets at Chilando
A new Care Point in the community of Chilando, Zambia, began caring for 50 children in April 2025. A UK supporter raised funds through a birthday fundraiser, enabling the construction of new toilets. The project was completed and opened with great celebration in August 2025. These facilities now provide vital health, hygiene, safety and dignity for everyone at the Care Point.
Life Centre Renovations
The community of Chilabula in Zambia, which cares for 125 vulnerable children, was hit by a severe storm that badly damaged the Life Centre where children receive meals and support. Despite challenging conditions of scorching heat and heavy rains, renovations were completed quickly, transforming the Life Centre into a safe, welcoming space with a proper kitchen, seating area and storage room for dry food.
Playground in Phophonyane
Many of the children we walk with carry heavy responsibilities at home, leaving little space to simply be children. Playgrounds at the Care Points are more than just somewhere to have fun. They allow children to express themselves, release burdens, grow in confidence and build friendships with each other. Through play and the support of the Care Workers, children begin to heal, build trust, and develop key skills for their future. Playgrounds like this one in Eswatini are a precious opportunity to just be children again.
