Remember Innocent and his story today as you pray for the nation of Zambia where 1,200,000 children have been orphaned. Pray for the volunteer Care Workers in Zambia who are daily striving to visit children like Innocent in their homes.

But I do not count my life of any value to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the good news of God’s grace – Acts 20:24 (NRSV)

Week 3 - The Local Response: The Church

Hands at Work envisions the local church in Africa effectively caring for the most vulnerable. This week, we pray for the local church to answer God’s call to respond to the cry of the poor.

On Sundays, we pause to anticipate the coming of Easter Sunday and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Many governments and systems within the poorest communities are corrupt, creating a wider gap between justice and oppression for those in need. As the Lord loves justice, ask Him to break down the corruption within countries in Africa, and also around the world.

He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;

He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear;

He burns the shields with fire,
