40 Days of Prayer

40 Days of Prayer - Third Sunday

‘We are going up to Jerusalem,’ [Jesus] said, ‘and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and teachers of the law. They will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles, who will mock Him and spit on Him, flog Him and kill Him. Three days later He will rise.’ – Mark 10:33-34 (NIV)

On Sundays, we pause to anticipate the coming of Easter Sunday and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

40 Days of Prayer - Day 15

I have a special concern for you church leaders. I know what it’s like to be a leader, in on Christ’s sufferings as well as the coming glory. Here’s my concern: that you care for God’s flock with all the diligence of a shepherd. Not because you have to, but because you want to please God. Not calculating what you can get out of it, but acting spontaneously. Not bossily telling others what to do, but tenderly showing them the way. – 1 Peter 5:2-3 (MSG)

40 Days of Prayer - Second Sunday

When Jesus heard [Lazarus was sick], He said, ‘The final result of this sickness will not be the death of Lazarus; this has happened in order to bring glory to God, and it will be the means by which the Son of God will receive glory… I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die; and those who live and believe in me will never die. Do you believe this?’ – John 11:4, 25-26 (NIV)
