When the local Hands at Work team in Ibadan met 15-year-old Emmanuel* their hearts were broken. They recognised that Emmanuel not only needed physical care (from food and access to health care) but, even more importantly, needed someone to love, believe and invest in him, and share the heart of Jesus with him. Taiwo, a member of the Ibadan team and the Care Workers have taken responsibility for Emmanuel: caring for him, speaking truth into his life and holding him accountable for his behaviour. There is still a long road to go with Emmanuel, but already there have been some signs of change and healing. Emmanuel is often seen singing, even leading in worship at the Care Point, and is starting to make some friends. - Alugbo Community, Nigeria
