Greetings to our Prayer Warriors,

George Snyman has been invited to travel to the UK from the 4th to the 16th of this October.

Pray for God's grace, wisdom and discernment as he speaks in churches and meets with people. Pray that all who hear him will have an open heart to God's message of love for poor and vulnerable children.

Pray for travelling mercies for George and that his health will be protected.

ZAMBIA

Pray for our Service Center and Regional Support Team members from around Africa as they come together in Zambia from 21st to 24th October.

Pray that they will be lead by the Spirit and the work will be forwarded out of this time spent together.

Please pray for the vision trip for church leaders from Canada and America which George Snyman will be leading the first week of November. They will spend time together in Zambia and Malawi. Pray that God will prepare the hearts of those coming on the trip and prepare the way for them to connect with and be an encouragement to our communities.

Opening Windows where Doors are Closed

Greetings to all in Jesus’ name,

2012 is turning out to be a very busy year, with many big changes that will require your prayers and consideration!

-          Hands at Work has been aiming to do more expansion into Nigeria, but there are many obstacles to overcome before this happens. Land purchase for care centers is proving difficult with Nigeria’s cramped landscapes, and the workers there are facing legal and financial opposition. Please pray that God will open windows where doors are closed in this situation.

-          More development with South African and Zambian care centers is planned, as well as construction of homes for Hands volunteers, but we are lacking people resources and management to do so. Please pray that God will “send out workers into His harvest field” (Matthew 9:38)

-          Celebrations in Zambia is coming up at the end of April, and we are facing burdens financially and travel for so many people is often dangerous. Pray for God’s blessing over this event, as it is a time where representation from all Hands communities can come together and celebrate what He has done for us, and look forward to what He will bring forth.

Thank you all for your support in what we do – prayer warriors are so essential to any organization that looks to bring His glory!

Be blessed,
Oumie

World AIDS Day - Pray for AIDS Victims and for Zambia

Hello prayer advocates,

Today on World AIDS Day we think of all mothers and fathers who have passed away due to AIDS, leaving behind broken families and orphaned children. And we ask you to lift up in prayer the broken families and, in particular, any orphaned children that you personally know of.

Ask the Lord to help your church be an example of the Lord’s love for orphans as written in Psalm 10:17-18, “The helpless put their trust in You. You are the defender of orphans Lord, You know the hopes of the helpless. Surely You will listen to their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so people can no longer terrify them.”

Today we’d also like you to stand in prayer for our family in Zambia. Below is a letter from them:

Thank you for wrestling in prayer with us. May the Lord remember you for all this work and we pray that the He strengthens you and gives you deep insight as you spearhead His work.

Here are some of the things that we’d like to bring before our Lord:

  • Please pray for unity and understanding in everything and for everyone. In particular in our 3 Hands at Work offices in Zambia: Kitwe, Luanshya and Kabwe, in the communities that those 3 offices support, and in our Regional Support Team located in Luanshya, Zambia that supports our Zambia, Malawi and D.R.C. offices.
  • Pray that because of God’s mercy, He will continue to provide caregivers and counselors for children who have been orphaned. Pray also for those children who have been abandoned and abused that they would find courage to open up to a loving caregiver or counselor and in doing so find healing.
  • Please pray for wisdom and zeal for all the Hands at Work team in Zambia
  • Also pray for God's guidance as the team moves forward in new areas in Zambia
  • Pray for Todd, Katie, Alicia, Tyler, Chris, Morgan and Margie (6 Canadian + 1 South African mid-term volunteers) who are in the region visiting, encouraging and providing support where they can.
  • Lastly pray for more international partners and individuals with generous and willing hearts in order that we may find support to care for all the children in the communities we are currently working in.

Thanks and may the Lord be with you.

James
