And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9
Pray for our Regional Support Teams as they go out to support the work happening in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Local African leaders together with international volunteers serve on these teams, mobilising the local church in each country for the growth and development of care for the most vulnerable places and people. Pray for wisdom and guidance for them as they go out to support our Care Workers: local women and men from churches who have given their lives to voluntarily care for the most vulnerable children in Africa.
In Malawi + Zimbabwe, three different churches came together last year to meet: the local church in the community, the church on the hill (in the city), and the international church. These times were about bringing them all together and encouraging them to make a difference. Read some quotes from a few Regional Support Team members who attended these meetings:
"God opened the eyes of pastors in Lilongwe, Malawi to see the poverty and vulnerability in communities on their doorstep which they had never before seen. With a new understanding of their position in the global body of Christ, and the need for care in surrounding communities, they are now better equipped to work together with international and local churches to fulfill their Biblical mandate to serve the most vulnerable." - Malawi
“Already I saw that there had been victory, that these pastors were getting it. Amazing testimonies have been coming out of Zimbabwe since." - Zimbabwe
"This is only the second time we’ve had all three layers of the church together and I think it will really change the way Hands works in the future, and will shape what mobilising churches into action will look like." - Zimbabwe
